Overview

When you purchase a Hatch subscription through our website or Azure, an online workspace is created for your organisation. This workspace gives you access to your software and to the Hatch Products Admin Console (HPAC), where subscriptions and users are managed.

Your subscription may automatically renew at the end of each billing period. From HPAC, you can:

  1. View your active subscriptions
  2. Cancel a subscription before it renews
  3. Update your payment details

The purchasing email, as a primary billing contact, receives email notifications before renewals or payments are processed, giving you another opportunity to take action. If this email changes, please contact Hatch or click here to update this contact if you are the current billing contact AND you purchased with a credit card.

Who Can Manage Subscriptions?

The person who originally purchased the subscription is automatically granted access to HPAC and able to manage billing and subscriptions.

Your organization can also assign additional administrators with different levels of access:

  • Workspace Owners
Can view and manage subscriptions, billing, and payment details.
  • User Administrators
Can add or remove users and assign licenses, but cannot access billing or subscription settings.

Viewing Your Subscriptions

In HPAC, the Subscriptions page shows all subscriptions linked to your workspace, including:

  • Whether a subscription is active or expired
  • Whether it will automatically renew
  • How it is billed

Subscriptions may be billed through:

  • Credit card (Stripe)
  • Azure Marketplace (Azure Subscription)
  • Hatch (invoice-based)

The billing channel determines how renewals and cancellations are handled.

Understanding Billing Status

Each subscription has a billing status that tells you what will happen next:

  • Automatic
The subscription is active and will automatically renew and charge your payment method.
  • Cancelled
The subscription will not renew. You will continue to have access until the end of the current billing period.
  • Invoice
The subscription was invoiced manually. It will only renew if you request it.
  • Once-off
A fixed-term purchase (such as training) that does not renew.

If a subscription renews, the expiry date updates to the next renewal date.

Cancelling a Subscription

You can cancel most subscriptions at any time before they renew. The process differs according to payment channel.

Credit Card (Stripe) Subscriptions

  1. Open HPAC and go to Subscriptions
  2. Select the subscription with Automatic billing menu
  3. Choose Cancel subscription
  4. You'll be redirected to Stripe to confirm the cancellation

Once completed, the billing status will show Cancelled. Your access will remain active until the end of the current term.

Azure Marketplace Subscriptions

Subscriptions purchased through Azure Marketplace must be cancelled by your Azure Administrator in the Azure portal. HPAC will update automatically once this is done.

Invoice-Based (Hatch) Subscriptions

If you have not confirmed a renewal with Hatch, no action is required — the subscription will simply expire.

Updating Payment Details

Hatch does not store your credit card information. All payments are securely managed by Stripe.

To update your payment details:

  1. Go to Subscriptions in HPAC
  2. Select the subscription with Automatic billing menu
  3. Choose Update payment details
  4. You'll be redirected to Stripe to add or update your card

The new payment method will be used for future renewals.
