Hydromantis is pleased to announce we have collaborated with Refinery Water Engineering & Associates (RWEA) on a joint paper entitled "Deployment of Biokinetic Modeling Tools to Optimize Real-time Biological Wastewater Process Control in the Oil refining Industry". This paper has been submitted to the American Academy of Environmental Engineers as part of their annual excellence in Environmental Engineering competition. Hydromantis Staff (Hugh Monteith, Lars Sterne and Shujun Dong), with collaborators Dr. Wayne Parker of the University of Waterloo and Dr. Chris Metcalfe of Trent University, have just finalized a major literature review report for the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment. The Review is titled "Emerging Substances of Concern in Biosolids: Concentrations and Effects of Treatment Processes". This in-depth review tabulates concentrations of these microconstituents in various sludge and biosolids matrices with a focus on the effectiveness of different biosolids treatment processes for reducing the mass of these contaminants in treated biosolids. Watch for this report that will soon be posted on the CCME website. Meetings/Workshops and ConferencesHydromantis senior process engineer Dr. Rajeev Goel is a co-author on a paper that will be presented at the International Water Association - leading edge technology conference at Phoenix Arizona June 2-4 2010.
