Hydromantis specializes in the application of proven methods for the optimization and design of wastewater and water treatment systems. We provide our clients with services that address their needs in areas of environmental planning, process, conceptual and design engineering, operations and operator training, software design and support, instrumentation and control, and treatability assessments, including piloting and field testing at full scale.
Our capabilities include multidiscipline, detailed design and services during construction. We have the experience and ability to carry out projects from the initial conceptual stage through to commissioning, operation, and training of facility staff.
Wastewater Treatment
We have applied plant optimization at many wastewater treatment plants in North America varying in capacity from 500 m3/d to 1,000,000 m3/d. Our innovative solutions to process limitations and capacity concerns have been demonstrated to be cost-effective. We have applied these skills at municipal as well as industrial wastewater facilities associated with pulp and paper, food processing, and the chemical and petrochemical process industries.
Water Treatment
Adequate water treatment and distribution is a key issue in the public eye. Our staff is experienced in all aspects of water treatment and current regulations. Senior staff have been involved in the Engineering Water reports and CEO Review of these reports in Ontario, demonstrating that our team is well qualified in water treatment.
Design & Construction
Building on our strength in process engineering, Hydromantis provides a full-discipline engineering team, including mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, I&C and SCADA. We focus particularly on plant optimization to ensure that our clients get the maximum usage from their existing systems. Only then do we look at additional plant needs. Getting the most from a facility today is a primary focus of our company. Our team focuses on our client needs and designs unique solutions to address their water and wastewater treatment requirements.
Along with our design expertise is our electrical I&C and SCADA experience. Hydromantis staff includes senior I&C and SCADA personnel capable of undertaking any SCADA and I&C projects. |

Audits
We undertake in all projects to evaluate the process and optimize the facility. Our staff has a long history of conducting process audit or plant optimization projects at wastewater facilities in North America. The following provides some recent project descriptions.
Peer Review / Expert Witness / Value Engineering
As part of getting the most out of facilities, clients are undertaking additional efforts including peer reviews and value engineering. Our clients also require expert witness testimony. With our water and wastewater expertise, we have been called upon by our clients and have successfully completed this type of work.
Sampling Programs
Private and public clients are required to undertake sampling projects for discharge requirements, evaluations and studies. Our staff has undertaken extensive sampling projects at facilities and in receiving areas to address our clients' needs.
Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO)
CSOs are a growing concern that have the potential to be costly to address. Hydromantis has been involved in the evaluation of CSO needs and options, designing storage structures and recommending/addressing operational needs.
Facility and Master Planning
Effective management of facilities requires planning. Hydromantis staff have undertaken numerous facility and master planning projects for water and wastewater facilities, including class EA (Class Environmental assessment) components.
Pilot Plant Testing
Innovative treatment processes, future goals and changing influent characteristics can impact the expected process performance. Hydromantis has designed, operated and evaluated a number of pilot plant testing programs. |
