CapdetWorks FAQs

Q Can the CapdetWorks output be shown in different currencies?
A Yes. To change the output to another currency, access the Preferences dialog from the Options drop-down menu. There you will see the currency item. Using the pull down selection box, choose the appropriate currency. Use the Add/Edit button to change the conversion rate and/or add a new currency to the selection box.
Q Sometimes I notice that there is a significant pause when I drag objects around the drawing board. Is this typical and is there a way to eliminate this pause?
A This behaviour is consistent with video card limitations. To combat this pause, access the Preferences dialog, Display tab and check the "Display Drag Picture" checkbox.
Q Can multiple users use CapdetWorks at the same time within the same organization using only one hardlock key?
A Yes, however to do this, a network version of the software must be installed on a server within the network and client versions must be installed locally on the machines where CapdetWorks will be used. The location of the hardlock (i.e. the IP address) of the server can then be input into the client machine to confirm the validity of the license, thereby eliminating the need for more than one hardlock key.
Q Does the network license version of CapdetWorks run locally or does it run off the server?
A The network license version of CapdetWorks is installed and runs locally on the client machines. The hardlock key is installed on the server and only the validity of the license is confirmed over the network.
Q How is the validity of the network license confirmed over the network?
A A server version of CapdetWorks is installed on the server. This installation includes a license server service, which is queried to confirm the existence of a hardlock key and the availability of a usable instance.
Q How many clients can simultaneously use the hardlock key installed on the server?
A Commercial network licenses include 3 simultaneous instances, but more can be purchased if required. There is no limit to the number of instances that can be purchased for one network.
